Basic Knowledge of Options
1. What is a put sale?
A put sale occurs when an investor believes the stock price will not fall below the exercise price. If the stock price does break below this level, the investor must purchase shares at the exercise price. Even if exercised, the premium received means the purchase is effectively at a discount.
2. What is a sell call?
A sell call refers to a situation where the investor believes the stock price will not exceed the exercise price. If the stock price surpasses the exercise price, the investor must sell the shares at that price. Never sell call options without holding underlying shares for hedging, as risk is extremely high. This strategy is typically used only with 100 shares of the underlying (covered call) to enhance returns.
3. How to identify the optimal seller option?
Consider three factors: exercise price, maturity date, and premium income.
4. How to sell a put that is difficult to exercise?
1) Avoid stocks with upcoming earnings reports (volatility may exceed forecasts) 2) Avoid stocks in sharp decline (bottom is hard to identify). Wait for the market to confirm a price level before trading.
5. Fund management and risk control
Essential skills for financial operations. Promptly close risky or out-of-control positions. As Soros said: close all positions that keep you awake at night.
6. When can the seller open a position?
(1) Avoid stocks that have just experienced sharp moves. Monitor for one week and decide after prices stabilize. (2) Avoid stocks with upcoming earnings. Select low-volatility, steady gainers or stocks with clear support; put strike prices are ideally below support or recent lows.
7. Optimal time to open a position
Typically on Thursdays or Fridays, sell options expiring in one or two weeks to capture weekend time value. For example: sell half on Thursday and the rest on Friday.
8. When to close the position?
If margin is sufficient and does not affect new positions, hold until maturity. To close early, set a lower liquidation price when opening.
9. What to do in extreme market conditions?
Set liquidation price when placing the order. Example: stock at 100, sell an 80 put; begin batch liquidation at 87, most at 85, all at 83. Losses are inevitable—profits and losses share the same source; avoid holding stubbornly or relying on luck.
10. Advantages of being a seller
You can continuously verify whether your market judgments are correct.
11. Strategies for being a buyer
Long-term bullish: Select options with maturity over 180 days and find optimal holding timing. Short-term: Options up to one month (higher cost, faster results). Buyer win rate is lower, but success may far exceed seller returns.
Hyperstock Recharge and Membership Guide
Understand the token system and membership subscriptions to use every analysis efficiently
I. Overview
Hyperstock uses a dual billing system combining membership recharge and Token recharge for flexibility and economy. Whether you occasionally analyze specific assets or track multiple opportunities daily, there is a plan for you. Billing principle: The system prioritizes deducting Token recharge; if insufficient, it deducts membership recharge. Each analysis consumes Tokens by query cycle for transparent, controllable costs.
II. Token System
1. What is a Token
Tokens are the core unit on Hyperstock for analytical services. Each request deducts corresponding Tokens. Two categories: Member recharge: Monthly (400 Tokens/month) or annual membership (400 Tokens/month), with periodic Token reset. Token top-up: Additional general Tokens when membership Tokens are insufficient; top-up Tokens are permanently valid.
2. Token Deduction Rules
Start analysis → Generate → Deduct membership Tokens first → If insufficient, deduct top-up Tokens. Details:
- Traditional option analysis: By remaining duration per stock in months—1 month = 1 Token, 2 months = 2 Tokens, and so on; multiple stocks are summed.
- Bullish-only portfolio: 1 month = 2 Tokens, 2 months = 4 Tokens, and so on; multiple combinations are aggregated.
- Bearish-only portfolio: 1 month = 2 Tokens, 2 months = 4 Tokens, and so on; multiple combinations are aggregated.
Purchase recommendation: 400 Tokens per month reset on each membership subscription date. If monthly use is below 400, monthly membership is economical. For variable frequency or multiple opportunities, Token top-up is more flexible. Large packages may save fees.
III. Common Questions
1. Fee deduction
Is Token deducted if analysis fails?
Tokens are deducted when the request is initiated. If no result returns due to network issues, contact customer service.
How are membership Tokens and top-up Tokens used?
Membership Tokens are always deducted first; when insufficient, top-up Tokens are used. View balances in the left navigation bar.
What happens to top-up Tokens when membership expires?
Membership Tokens reset periodically; unused cycle Tokens expire. Top-up Tokens remain permanently valid.
2. Top-up
Which payment methods are supported?
USD, CNY, USDT, and USDC. Specific methods are shown on the recharge page.
How long until Tokens are credited?
